NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 12th April 2010 at Bob Adams' residence

  1. Apologies – J. Hosie (Men's Captain), A. Fodor (Social Secretary), A. Houston (Running Advisor)
  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. 110 paid memberships received so far . Membership cards are needed. England Athletics registration forms will be completed soon.
    2. Warwickshire Road Race League presentations - Corinna O’Connor attended to receive prizes for many club members.
    3. Summer Handicap – the first race had 43 participants.
  3. Treasurers Report – Paul Stead verbally presented details.
  4. Ladies' Captain's Report – Ladies team has been entered in National 6 stage relay at Sutton Park. Rebecca Smith ran a ladies club record at the Ashby 20 mile race. Alix Critchley ran 3 PB’s in a week in various events.
  5. Men's Captains Report – The men have a team running in the National 12 stage relay at Sutton Park. There have been many PB’s for members in recent races.
  6. Social Secretary Report – A post marathon meal can be arranged in May.
  7. REVS Radio Equipment/Trailer – Tony French will speak to REVS to seek a refund. The barriers and equipment need to be stored at a suitable venue.
  8. 10Km Race – The date is Sunday 18th April 2010. The start and registration will be at Jaguar. Tony French discussed final details of preparations and marshals. The Mayor will start the races. Thanks to Tony French and the race committee for all their efforts.
  9. Runner of the Month – March winners (bottle of wine each) – Howard Andersen (sub 3 hour marathon), Jack Langman (PB in Ashby 20), Rebecca Smith (Inter Counties XC and club record in Ashby 20).
  10. Any Other Business –
    1. Summer Diary – Tony French is compiling this. The Good, Bad & Ugly relay will be on Wednesday 11th August from the White Lion.
    2. Track & Field Night – to be booked at Kirkby Corner, maybe for 16th June 2010.
    3. Trophies – Bob Awcock wants these for engraving.
    4. Birmingham XC League – we will not bid for a fixture next season, but will try to help if there are not enough clubs volunteering to host a fixture.
    5. Physios – we have been contacted by a sports physio. We need to know about prices, discounts to club members and sponsorship support for club events.
    6. Mayor’s Contribution of Sport evening – Mark Baker and another committee member will attend this.
    7. Cotswold Hilly100 – Alix Critchley is arranging a mixed team.
    8. Allesley Fun Run – provisional date is 11th July 2010
  11. Next Meeting – Monday 10th May 2010, 8.00pm at Bob Adams' residence.
