NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 10th May 2010 at Bob Adams' residence

  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. 114 paid memberships received so far . Membership cards are needed. England Athletics affiliation certificate received. Tony French will send emails/letters to unpaid members stating that membership will end on 30th June 2010, unless payment is received.
    2. Summer Handicap – the second race had 46 participants.
  3. Treasurers Report – Paul Stead circulated details of current finances.
  4. Ladies' Captain's Report – Ladies ran in Paris and London Marathons, and other events included the National Road Relays, Coventry Way, Shakespeare Half-Marathon, Northbrook 10Km, May Day 5 mile.
  5. Men's Captains Report – The men also ran Marathons including Paris, London and Shakespeare. Jack Langman was 10th in his age category in London. Paul Stead ran the 3 Peaks Race the day before London. There was a men's team in the National Road Relays.
  6. Social Secretary Report – A post marathon meal is arranged at Cosmo on 14th May. An autumn social event could be arranged
  7. REVS Radio Equipment/Trailer – Tony French has had problems contacting the REVS representative about trailer and radio issues. The radios are not all operating on the same frequencies.
  8. 10Km Race –Thanks to Tony French and the race committee for organising an excellent event, starting at Jaguar. Thanks to all the helpers and marshals on the day. Entries were slightly less this year (358) due to the change of date, and Northbrook members who were not running. Tony gave a review of the event, and these details will be useful for the next event. The committee agreed the following donations from the event: £1000 Macmillan, £300 Scouts, £200 Great Ormond Street.
  9. Runner of the Month – April winner (bottle of wine) : Corinna O’Connor (ran Paris Marathon setting a PB and London Marathon 2 weeks later)
  10. Any Other Business –
    1. Summer Diary – Tony French is compiling this. Race the Train is on Wednesday 14th July (Hampton-in-Arden to Tile Hill). The Good, Bad & Ugly relay will be on Wednesday 11th August from the White Lion.
    2. Track & Field Night – booked for Wednesday 16th June 2010, starting at 7pm.
    3. Trophies – Bob Awcock wants these for engraving.
    4. Birmingham XC League – we must pay fees. Next seasons dates are: 30 Oct (TBA), 4 Dec (Leamington), 15 Jan (Wolverhampton), 12 Feb (Bourneville).
    5. Mayor’s Contribution of Sport evening – Mark Baker and Andy Houston attended.
    6. Cotswold Hilly100 – Alix Critchley is arranging a mixed team.
    7. Allesley 5Km – date is Sunday 11th July 2010. Planning is underway. Marshals who help at the 5km can run at the 2011 Northbrook 10Km race.
    8. London Marathon Club Places 2011 – Mark Baker has applied for these.
    9. Laminator – Tony French can purchase one of these for club use.
  11. Next Meeting – Monday 14th June 2010, 8.00pm at John Hosie's residence.
