NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 5th December 2011

  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. Kit – Alix Critchley can order new kit in January.
  3. Treasurer's Report –Paul Stead circulated details. A proposal to increase subscriptions to £20 from £17 was discussed. Paul needs a stocktake of club vests from Bob Adams.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. There have been many large turnouts, good runs and PB’s, especially in the cross country events. The men are 4th in the Birmingham League division 3 after finishing 6th in the Burbage Common race. The ladies ran the second league race at Northampton. Amanda Deavy was 1st lady in the Raceway 10Km. Mike Wheeler was 3rd in the Coventry charity 10Km. Corinna O’Connor and Dave Fawkner completed a 3 day 84 mile race. Other races were the Coombe 8 miles and the Kingsbury 10Km.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to Corinna for organising the Xmas curry on 3/12/2011 attended by 34 people. The Presentation night was renamed the Awards Party on 21/1/2012 at Jaguar. Corinna has checked food prices. Andy Houston will book the DJ. Tickets will be £10. Roger Ladbury will print the tickets. There is a gold/silver/bronze theme. The committee discussed the prize categories. There is a Christmas club night on 21/12/2011, preceded by Tony Mackness’s Xmas Cracker run from Tile Hill station on 18/12/2011. There is also a Bedford half marathon meal.
  6. 10Km Race – A provisional date is 15/7/2012. There may be an Olympic theme. Sponsorship is being considered, as well as charity donations. The goody bag was also discussed.
  7. Runner of the Month – November: Amanda Deavy (recent PB and 1st lady in Raceway 10Km).
  8. Any Other Business –
    1. AGM date – this is booked at Jaguar for Wed 25/1/2012 after training. Proposals are due in writing up to 14 days before the AGM.
    2. Voted Awards – Mark Baker will circulate voting slips for Clubperson of the Year and Most Improved Runner with a suggested shortlist, but voting is not restricted to this.
    3. Road Race Champs – the prize categories were agreed. There are overall male ad female winners, then another top 3 in each age category.
    4. Thunder Run 2012 – we will again subsidise team entries which are now due aguar Fees – these have been due from the start of October.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 9th January 2012, 8pm, at Clive Horton's residence.
