NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. Membership - subscriptions of £20 or £12 concessions are now due. About half of members have paid – Andrew Houston is having problems accessing the EAA website.
    2. Email list – the Northbrook mailing list needs to be updated with new members
    3. Vests – Bob Adams has ordered some new vests – replacement vests are not subsidised and are sold at full price.
  3. Treasurer's Report – Paul Stead circulated details, and asked about future kit costs.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – The men men ran in the final Birmingham League Div 3 XC at Stafford, finishing 4th overall (7th on day). The ladies ran in the final league XC race at Cheltenham finishing 14th overall. There have been big turnouts at the Parkrun, Wokingham Half Marathon (PBs for James Joyce, John Wilson, Allan Walsh) and Bramley 10/20. Mark Baker won the bronze medal at the Welsh mens ultradistance champs with a PB at the Barry 40. Dave Fawkner completed a 100 mile run in 24 hours. The Midland relays are on 31st March.
  5. Social Secretary Report – There were 27 people at the recent China Red meal. Thanks to Corinna for organising it. Kevin Coughlan has invited members to attend his show in Kenilworth between March 17th and 24th. Corinna reminded members to attend the next Parkrun for support and sandwiches. Supporters are also at the London Marathon weekend. There will be a picnic at the May day 5 miles .
  6. 10Km Race – The race will be part of the Warwickshire County Championship series and the Warks Road Race League on 15/7/2012. The 10Km can be publicised at the Parkruns. Road closures have been agreed. Radios have been hired out to Allesley festival. Sponsors are providing a goody bag. Roger to create a publicity leaflet, and advert for the festival magazine.
  7. Runner of the Month – February 2012: Joe Kelly (improved to regular level 1 runner).
  8. Any Other Business –
    1. Marathon Training – Clive Horton is still organising 9am Sunday training runs from Jaguar. Full details are on the club website.
    2. Coaching – John Wilson will be subsidised for half of a coaching course in May.
    3. Birmingham XC AGM – We will offer to host a fixture at Coundon Park next season.
    4. Kit – Alix Critchley discussed kit from Acorn (hoodies, sweatshirts, bags, t-shirts, etc). Orders will be taken soon. A club tent is also required.
    5. Donation – Tom Morgan has kindly made a donation to the club.
    6. Kilometre Markers – our markers are being used at the parkrun.
    7. Equipment Storage– The ‘Rainbow’ storage owner needs to be contacted for future access and rental details.
    8. Results – members should be encouraged to send these to the website administrator if they want full and correct details displayed.
    9. Club Road Race League – second claim members are eligible for club only events.
    10. Nobby Mascot – Nobby has a facebook page and has attended some recent events.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 2nd April 2012, 8pm, at Alix Critchley's residence.
