NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 16th July 2012

  2. Matters From Last Meeting – none
  3. Treasurer's Report – Paul Stead circulated details.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – In June Paul Stead ran the Long Eaton 50 in 10h 42m. Dave Fawkner ran the Hilly 100 solo in 23 hours. There were many Northbrook runners in the two Castles. 50 Northbrook members ran in the Sphinx Summer 5 (17 Pb's). 12 ran in the Stratford 6. Tony Bowe ran the Outlaw Ironman triathlon.Dave Cooper ran 6 of the races in the East Midlands Grand Prix series, with 4 PB's. Several Northbrook runners in the Northbrook 10k - Amanda Deavy finished 3rd lady.
    Thunder Run relay; 2 x 8 teams, 1 x 5 team and 2 solo entries (Tony Bowe and Dave Fawkner).
  5. Social Secretary Report – BBQ planned for after GBU relay - originally arranged for 4 August, but we will do a survey of members to decide whether we hold relay on a Wednesday night. Comedy evening to be arranged in September. Race the Train will be on 18 July.
  6. Social – 20 people at the Shimla Spice meal on 13 July. Sphinx are willing to organise a quiz night, or Sean could organise a bingo night.
  7. 10k race - over 400 entries, great event, good weather, well done to Tony and sub-committee. Next year date fixed for 14 July.
  8. Runner of the Month – June 2012: Dave Cooper - 4 PB's at EMGP.
  9. Any Other Business –
    1. Club kit - wasn't very good. We have sent most of it back to be replaced.
    2. Leadership & Fitness Course - John Wilson and Corinna O'Connor have been through the course.
  10. Next Meeting – Monday 13 August 2012, 8pm, at Corinna O'Connor's residence.
