NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 13th August 2012

  1. Apologies – M. Baker (Secretary), Alix Critchley (Ladies' Captain), P. Stead (Treasurer)
  2. Matters From Last Meeting – none
  3. Treasurer's Report – No details circulated but Treasurer had informed the committee that the Club finances are in good order.
  4. Membership - 3 new members have joined. Membership stands at 123 members.
  5. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – In July Tony Bowe completed the Outlaw Triathlon, Dave Fawkner a 30-mile race, some Club members ran in the Northbrook 10k. Silverstone Duathlon: Chris Jones and Mike Wheeler, Sprint Triathlon: Sarah, Lyn and Linda. 3 teams ran in the Thunder Run, plus solo runs by Tony Bowe and Dave Fawkner. Club will enter again next year. Good turnout for Godiva Autumnal 5 on 2 August. For Midland Relays on 22 September we need 5 more men for the 6-stages and lots more ladies for the 4-stage races.
  6. Good, Bad & Ugly - 15 August, Mark Baker has organised teams.
  7. Social Secretary Report – looking into possibility of BBQ. Calendar Girls Night on 7 September Comedy evening to be arranged in September. Corinna to see about hiring room at Rainbow Inn for Christmas party. A meal has been organised for after the Bradford half-marathon on 9 December. Presenation Night will be 26 January 2013.
  8. Runner of the Month – July 2012: Amy Burdis - performances at Thunder Run.
  9. Any Other Business –
    1. Club kit - problems have been resolved, kit will be available shortly.
    2. Coventry half-marathon - Club has been asked if it could provide marshals.
    3. Coventry Big Fun Run - 18 August, helpers required.
    4. Cross-country - we are hosting the fixture on 9 February 2013. Tony French has booked the school.
    5. September 15th will be a Parkrun Focus Day.
    6. Club gazebo - Andrew Pitt looking into acquisition.
    7. Club vests - need to order vests in XL size.
  10. Next Meeting – Monday 3 September 2012, 8pm, at Bob Adams' residence.
