NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 4th March 2013

  1. Apologies – None.
  2. Matters From Last Meeting – None.
  3. Treasurer's Report – Amanda Deavy circulated details of recent accounts, and said that we are due a refund of XC costs. Subscriptions are being collected by Mark Dalton and letters for overdue fees will be sent out after 31st March. There is a stock of many new vests.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. The final mens league XC race was on 09/02/2013 and Northbrook finished 2nd and gained promotion to division 2. Thanks to everyone who helped at the event, especially Tony French for his organisation of the venue and course. Lyn McDonald was 1st lady again at the Centurion 5 miles. Amanda Deavy will run for Warks in the Inter-Counties XC Champs at Cofton Park on 9/3/2013. Teams will be entered for the road relays, Hilly 100 and Thunder Run. These events are fully or partially subsidised by the club
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to Corinna O’Connor for organising the curry night and park run focus. Next events are a theatre night on 15/3/2013, London Marathon supporter’s bus on 21/4/2013, a post marathon meal on 26/4/2013, and a park run focus on 11/5/2013.
  6. 10km Race - Roger Ladbury discussed further details of the race on 14/07/2013. Entries are now open including online entries. We are waiting to hear from some sponsors. Roger discussed a flier to offer free 10Km race entry this year for new members.
  7. Runner of the Month – February 2013: Corinna O’Connor (PB at Wokingham Half Marathon).
  8. Any Other Business –
    1. Constitution – Roger Ladbury discussed the proposed changes in detail and there was a good discussion. Main areas were club President role, special meetings, disciplinary rules and dissolution rules. Roger will add the discussed amendments to the draft and let all members see the proposed new constitution. Thanks to Roger for all his work and to everyone for the feedback (especially Tony French).
    2. Kit Keeper – Thanks to Chris Jones, who will be kit keeper.
    3. Summer Handicap – The fist race is on 03/04/2013 at 7.15pm.
    4. XC Plaques – 5 extra ‘A’ team plaques are ordered. Bob Awcock will get a quote for 21 small plaques for other runners in the Birmingham XC League races.
    5. XC Bid – Northbrook will bid to host a Birmingham XC League race next season.
    6. Gazebo – John Wilson will get a quote and the club will purchase this item.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 8 April 2013, 8pm, at Mark Dalton's residence.
