NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 13th May 2013

  1. Apologies – B. Adams (Chairman), J. Wilson (Men's Captain)
  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. Chris Jones has a stock of club vests, including old style vests (with a horizontal band). These are extra stock which can be sold off at a discount but must not be worn where an official club vest is needed. Chris is adding details to the website soon.
    2. We need to let the Birmingham XC league know the venue of our race next season. No ladies' race details are known yet. We need receipts to claim back expenses from last season. Plaques have not been received yet from the league, but extra plaques from our local supplier are available now.
  3. Treasurer's Report – Amanda Deavy has details of recent accounts. Mark Dalton has subs from 130 members. New members will be offered reduced subs after 1/8/2013.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. There have been many excellent performances from 5Km to marathons. There were big turnouts at Brighton and London marathons ad the Regency 10Km. Also, 67 people ran in the second summer handicap. Thanks to all the timekeepers. Teams are entered for the Hilly 100 and Thunder Run. These events are fully or partially subsidised by the club.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to all the cake bakers at the summer handicap. Thanks to Corinna O’Connor for organising the London Marathon supporters' bus, a post marathon meal, and a park run focus.
  6. 10km Race - Roger Ladbury discussed further details of the race on 14/7/2013. Entries are now being received including many online entries. The next sub-committee meeting may need to be rearranged to a new date. Thanks for all their efforts.
  7. Future Events - Corinna O’Connor suggested provisional dates for future events (there may be some date clashes).
    1. Northbrook Track and Field Olympics, Kirby Corner – 26/6/2013
    2. Park Run Focus, Memorial Park – t.b.a.
    3. Race the Train, Hampton-in-Arden to Tile Hill Station – 17/7/2013
    4. Good, Bad & Ugly 3 x 5Km relay, top end of Browns Lane – 21/8/2013
  8. Runner of the Month – May 2013: Jack Langman (V75 who was 13th V70 at London Marathon).
  9. Any Other Business –
    1. Constitution – Roger Ladbury circulated the amended constitution to members, who can comment up to 31/5/2013. The next committee meeting will arrange a date for an EGM to vote on the changes.
    2. Gazebo – John Wilson has purchased a new club gazebo which was available at the park run focus day.
    3. Photo – A new club photo will be arranged at the Sphinx 5 miles race.
    4. Banners/Flags – some of these need to be located.
    5. London Marathon Club Places 2014 – details are available at end of May 2013.
    6. Road Race Champs – latest details are on the club website.
    7. Coombe Abbey Festival of Running– there is a trail marathon, half-marathon and 10Km on 30/6/2013.
