NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 17th June 2013

  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. We need to let the Birmingham XC league know the venue of our race next season. No ladies race details are known yet. We need receipts to claim expenses from last season. Plaques are available from the league, and must be paid for and collected.
  3. Treasurer's Report – Amanda Deavy circulated details of recent accounts. Mark Dalton has subs from 135 members. New members will be offered reduced subs after 1/8/2013.  England Athletics membership fees are due soon.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. There have been excellent performances including: Hilly 100 – 4 teams ran, 2nd prize in B race, Two Castles 10Km – 2nd ladies team, Sphinx 5 miles – 61 club runners. Also, 72 people ran in the third summer handicap. Thanks to all the timekeepers and the handicapper (Richard French).
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to all the cake bakers at the summer handicap. Thanks to Corinna O’Connor for organising recent events. Future events are:
    1. Park Run Focus, Brueton Park, Solihull – 29/6/2013
    2. Good, Bad & Ugly 3 x 5Km relay, top end of Browns Lane – 10/7/2013
    3. Curry Night, Shimla Spice, by Coventry Rail Station – 12/7/2013
    4. Race the Train, Hampton-in-Arden to Tile Hill Station – 17/7/2013
  6. 10km Race - Roger Ladbury discussed further details of the race on 14/7/2013. Many entries are now being received including many online entries. Tony French needs volunteers for marshalling. Thanks for all the efforts of the sub-committee.
  7. Runner of the Month – May 2013: Angela Hands (ran all grand prix races).
  8. Any Other Business –
    1. Constitution – Roger Ladbury has circulated the amended constitution to members. No replies were received, so members vote to adopt the new constitution at the AGM.
    2. Photo – A new club photo will be arranged soon, possibly on 10/8/2013.
    3. London Marathon Club Places 2014 – details are available in August 2013.
    4. Kit supplies – details will be advertised on the website soon.
    5. Culture Exhibition – Colin Kirkham has asked if Northbrook can supply a brief history for the exhibition at Godiva clubhouse in September. Mark Baker will arrange details.
    6. Age Group Records – it was suggested that yearly age records are recorded by the club.
    7. Jaguar Club Fees – these may increase soon. Jaguar will contact us to discuss further.
    8. Website Advertising – discussion of third parties asking to be added to the club website.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 8 July 2013, 8pm, at Bob Adams' residence.
