NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 9th September 2013

  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. We need to let the Birmingham XC league know the venue of our race next season. No ladies race details are known yet. We need receipts to claim expenses from last season. Plaques have now been received from the league but not distributed to team..
  3. Treasurer's Report – Amanda Deavy circulated details of recent accounts. Mark Dalton has subs from 140 members. New members are offered reduced subs after 1/8/2013.  England Athletics membership fees have been paid.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. Several runners took part in the Godiva Ring-Road run, Godiva 5 mile, Massey 5 mile and Kenilworth Half Marathon. Thanks to all the timekeepers and the handicapper (Richard French) in the Summer handicaps. Winners are Amy Burdis and Aaron Dreelan. The Sutton Park relays is the next team event.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to all the cake bakers at the summer handicap.
    Future events are:
    1. Bowling Night, Walsgrave – 27/9/2013
    2. Christmas night event – December 2013
    3. Awards Presentation Night – 25/1/2014
  6. 10km Race - The 10Km race was a great success with nearly 500 runners. Many thanks to Tony French, Roger Ladbury ad all the sub-committee and helpers on the day. Roger identified some areas where changes could be made for next year including radio coverage, shared chip timing with other clubs and quicker results processing.
  7. Jaguar Club Fees – A meeting is arranged with Jaguar Sports Club for 23/9/2013 to discuss fees for next year. Jaguar are keen to collect payments from all members who use the Jaguar club for car parking, changing, showers and bar.
  8. Runner of the Month – July 2013: Steve Turvey; August: Tommy Dempsey and Tracy Morgan (PB's).
  9. Any Other Business –
    1. London Marathon Club Places 2014 – details are available at end of September 2013
    2. Kit supplies – Chris Jones has stock details.
    3. Culture Exhibition – Mark Baker sent a club history report and photos to Colin Kirkham. However, the exhibition scope has changed, and our information will not be used until next year.
  10. Next Meeting – Monday 14 October 2013, 8pm, at Corrina O'Connor's residence.
