NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 2nd December 2013

  2. Matters From Last Meeting – None
  3. Treasurers Report – Amanda Deavy circulated details of recent accounts Warks affiliation fees are due.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. Several runners took part in the league cross country races at Leamington on 9/11/2013. The men in division 2 were 13th. Ladies were 3rd team at the Warwick university relays. Amanda Deavy and Pete Fellows were Warks road race league winners. There were many PB’s at races including half marathons and the Coombe 8 miles. Paul Stead is compiling the club road race league. It was noted that the ‘Marathon of the North’ was not eligible as it was a shortened course.
  5. Social Secretary Report – The quiz was an excellent night hosted with Coventry Triathletes at Jaguar, and raising £255 for the childrens hospital.
    Future Events are:
    1. Tony Mackness’s Christmas Cracker Runs, Tile Hill Station – 15/12/2013
    2. Final club night of year – festive run and cakes afterwards – 18/12/2013
    3. Christmas Meal, Blue Restaurant – 20/12/2012
    4. Awards Presentation Night, Black and White theme – 18/1/2014
  6. 10k Race - The first sub-committee meeting is looking for sponsors for next year’s race.
  7. Runner of Month November: Martin Winch (excellent league XC result).
  8. Any Other Business –
    1. Chris Jones has stock details, and will order hoodies and kit for Christmasmas. It was noted that we would have to order 100 vests to get the best price, but may not need so many.
    2. Membership – we now have 144 paid members.
    3. Local Coaching Funding – Nathan Blundell has contacted the club with funding options. John Wilson is reviewing these options.
    4. AGM – Jaguar function room is booked for Wednesday 22/1/2014 after training.
    5. Voted Awards / AGM Proposals – Mark Baker will contact members with details. A shortlist was agreed for clubperson of the year and most improved runner.
    6. Masseys' Quiz – Sat 11/1/2014
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 6 January 2014 at 8pm at Corinna O'Connor's residence.
