NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  1. Apologies – None, Bob Adams welcomed Tony Mackness to the committee.
  2. Matters From Last Meeting – None
  3. Treasurers Report – Tony Mackness discussed looking at online accounts. An email will be sent out to members with details soon.
  4. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. Several runners took part in the mens league cross country races at Wyken Croft on 11/1/2014. The men in division 2 were 17th on the day, but are 15th overall. The ladies ran in the Midland League cross country race at Droitwich. The men and ladies ran in the Midlands cross country races at Leamington. The Midland Road Relays is the next club event after the cross country season.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to Corinna O’Connor for organising the Awards Presentation Night on 18/1/2014. The back and white theme was part of an excellent night. There is a curry night at Shimla Spice on 21/2/2014.
  6. 10k Race - The The sub-committee is seeking new members, especially an assistant race director. Several sponsors have already agreed to support the event this year.
  7. AGM – This was held at Jaguar on 22/1/2014. The minutes are available on the club website. The committee discussed the new cross country awards agreed at the meeting.
  8. Coundon Park Cross Country Race – The club will host the final Birmingham League race on Saturday 8/2/2014. The usual race organiser, Tony French, will be unavailable, so Bob Adams will co-ordinate the race organisation with help from the committee. Corinna O’Connor will recruit marshals to help on the day. Final preparations were discussed.
  9. Runner of the Month - January: Clive Horton (organising and leading Sunday training).
  10. Any Other Business –
    1. Kit supplies – Chris Jones has kit for members.
    2. Park Run Focus – Next event focus is Saturday 1/3/2014. The previous event focus was cancelled.
    3. Training – Extra training is being organised by Clive Horton (Sundays) and Lyn McDonald (Mondays). The Wednesday training groups are successful but some group are getting very big. The committee discussed whether runners can be encouraged to run in different groups which would benefit their training and provide more evenly sized groups.
    4. Masseys Quiz – Northbrook attended the quiz on 11/1/2014.
    5. Coventry Half Marathon – there is a new course on 23/3/2014.
  11. Next Meeting – Monday 3rd March 2014 at 8pm at Mark Dalton's residence.
