NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  2. Matters From Last Meeting – None
  3. Treasurers Report – Tony Mackness updated copies of the accounts. The balance is very healthy at the moment. Tony has received a club debit card to pay for race entries and other expenses.
  4. Membership - 153 members have joined or renewed subscriptions, and online payments were used for a large number of these payments. A questionnaire was sent to members who have not renewed, to find out the reasons for non-renewal. 2 replies were received. England Athletics have said that individual fees are increasing from £10 to £12 next year and club flat fees are increasing from £75 to £100.
  5. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website, including Warks Road Race League results. The ladies are 5th in the league. There were good turnouts and PBs at the Godiva 5 mile and Massey 5 miles. The Sutton Park relays are on 20th September. John Wilson sent out a cross country guide.
  6. Social Secretary Report – The picnic at the Memorial Park was cancelled due to heavy rain. There will be a Park Run focus on 27th September. There will be a curry night on Friday 26th September. Corinna will try to book rooms at the Jaguar for the Awards Night and AGM in January 2015.
  7. 10k Race - The race raised £3000 for charities in total, an excellent amount. The order of extra t-shirts has now been received, and will be sent out soon. Many thanks to our race sponsors. There was a discussion about whether chip timing could be used or not next year, depending on cost.
  8. Runner of Month July 2014: Sarah Booker (6th in Thunder Run). August 2014: Stuart Lumsden (many PB’s during the month).
  9. Any Other Business –
    1. Training – Extra training continues with Clive Horton (Sundays) and Lyn McDonald (Mondays). The Wednesday training groups are successful, especially due to John Wilson attending different levels, and combining levels, to pass on his coaching tips. The coaches met recently to review training.
    2. Summer Handicap – The fifth race was on 6th August. Thanks to Richard French for the handicapping, and all the timekeepers for their help. The final race is on 3rd September.
    3. Kit – Tracey Morgan offered to help with kit, and produced some designs and costs of available kit. Thanks to Tracy for her work. John Wilson has also contacted alternative kit suppliers to compare costs. We should also investigate costs from ‘Coventry Runner’ shop.
    4. Birmingham XC League Division 3 – We have paid our fees. Fixtures are 8th Nov 2014 - Leamington, 6th Dec 2014 - Aldridge, 10th Jan 2015 - Droitwich, 7th Feb 2015 – Sphinx
    5. Ladies Midland XC – Fixtures (same dates) are Leamington, TBA, Droitwich, Wolverhampton & Bilston.
    6. London Marathon 2015 – Club entries not available until at least the end of October. .
