NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  2. Matters From Last Meeting – None
  3. Treasurers Report – Tony Mackness updated copies of the accounts. The balance is very healthy at the moment. Recent expenses include: Thunder Run subsidies, XC champs fees, kit costs, coach training courses.
  4. Membership - 153 members have joined or renewed subscriptions.
  5. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. There were some excellent marathon runs in October. Amanda Deavy broke the ladies club record and Stuart Lumsden broke the 3 hour barrier. There was a good turnout at the Walsall XC relays. Also, thanks to Tom Miller for organising the Warwick University XC relays. The Mens and Ladies XC league starts at Leamington on 8/11/2014, and the second mens race is at Aldridge on 6/12/2014. The ladies second race on 6/12/2014 is to be arranged.
  6. Social Secretary Report – There will be a Park Run focus on Saturday 13/12/2014. A Christmas meal will be arranged soon. Corinna O’Connor has booked rooms at the Jaguar for the Awards Night for 24/1/2015, and AGM for 28/1/2015.
  7. Kit – Mark Dalton has ordered 71 new club vests. Tracy Morgan has also ordered other kit, offered to help with kit and produced some designs and costs of available kit. Some old stock now appears on the club website.
  8. Runner of the Month - October: joint winners – Stuart Lumsden (first club sub-3 hour marathon in 4 years) and Amanda Deavy (Ladies club marathon record).
  9. Any Other Business –
    1. Training – Extra training continues with Clive Horton (Sundays) and Lyn McDonald (Mondays). The leaders discussed options of rotating themselves to different groups, as well as options of different sessions not different levels. Details of training are on the club website.
    2. Coaching Courses – Amanda Deavy and Liz Pharoah attended courses recently. John Wilson and Corinna O’Connor have already attended courses.
    3. Jaguar Fees – The fees are due from October at the same price as last year. Fees are due for all members who use any facilities including the car park. An extra £1 is due to use showers on a Sunday. Mark Dalton reminded Jaguar about the showers being left in a dirty state by other users.
    4. London Marathon 2015 – Club entries have been requested. 3 places are expected.
    5. Warks Road Race League – Presentation is on 10/11/2014 .Joe Kelly is the only runner to complete all races.
    6. Christmas Cracker run – Tony Mackness has a provisional date of Sunday 21/12/2014 at Tile Hill Station.
    7. Myton Hospice – the charity have asked if we can help new fundraising runners to train for the Coventry half marathon. .
