NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  1. Apologies – R. Adams (Chairman), J. Wilson (Men's Captain), C. O'Connor (Social Secretary)
  2. Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness showed details of the accounts. Richard Cawley has agreed to be Club Auditor.
  3. Membership – Subs will soon be overdue. Only paid up members will continue to be registered, and earn points in the Summer Handicap. Mick O’Shea has sent a resignation letter to the club..
  4. Committee and Coaching – Several members have attended coaching and leadership courses.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to Corinna O’Connor for organising the quiz on 20/2/2015 at Jaguar. There is a post marathon meal on 1st May.
  6. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. Amanda Deavy ran in the Inter-Counties XC at Cofton Park, and was 2nd lady in the Coventry Half Marathon, leading 50 members. Amanda has been invited to represent Coventry in the Cork Marathon. Many members also ran in the National XC in London. Helen Hodge appeared in an article about the Coventry Half Marathon. Sutton Park road relays are due soon. Club Captains still need volunteers to help on race days.
  7. Kit – Thanks to Tracy Morgan for bringing samples of new club kit including track suits. Tracy will take orders at the club (min 10 pieces of kit).
  8. Runner of the Month – February winners – Tony Bowe (100 marathons), Corinna O’Connor (PB in half marathon). There are new £5 voucher prizes this month.
  9. Any other business –
    1. Club of the Year - Northbrook were praised by the Coventry Half Marathon organisers for being Club of the Year. Thanks to the 10 volunteers and 9 pacers at the race who all helped on the day.
    2. Ladies XC - There is a suggestion that the league may split men and ladies venues next season. We will attend all relevant meetings to keep the ladies involved.
    3. XC Handicap – It was suggested that club race could be re-introduced at Lakeview Park.
    4. 10Km race – We are waiting for a permit. The entry form will be ready soon. The race may be part of the Midlands championships.
    5. Summer Handicap – starts on 1st April, followed by cakes in the bar. The July race will be moved to Wednesday 8th July, as the Warks league Ryton Pools race is on Thursday 2nd July.
    6. Jaguar Fees – Jaguar have reminded members that an extra £1 should be paid to use leisure centre showers on Sundays, or any day other than Wednesday.
    7. Storage – Jaguar do not have any spare equipment storage space.
  10. Next Meeting – Monday 20 March 8pm. Venue TBA.
