NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  1. Apologies – R. Adams (Chairman), J. Wilson (Men's Captain), A. Deavy (Ladies' Captain),
  2. Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness showed details of the accounts. England Athletic fees have been paid.
  3. Membership – We have 151 paid members. There are many club vests in stock.
  4. Social Secretary Report – We are attending a Sphinx quiz on 20th June. A Parkrun picnic may be organised this summer.
  5. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Amanda Deavy has asked if any other ladies would like to become ladies captain, due to extra commitments for her recently. Amanda will continue in the role at the moment, and will continue to represent the club and lead training sessions on Wednesday where required. Recent race results are on the website including many marathon times. Amanda represented Coventry in the Cork Half Marathon and finished as 2nd lady. 50 members ran in the Two Castles 10Km run. The Sphinx 5 mile will be a Wednesday night club event on 17th June. Thunder Run entrants need to be confirmed.
  6. 10Km race – Race entries are being received. The race is part of the Midlands championships. Many marshals and helpers are needed on the day.Members will deliver letters to local residents on 1st July. Finishers t-shirts are ordered.
  7. Runner of the Month – May winners – Men: Mick Duggan. Ladies: Jill Pittard – leading age group categories in East Midlands Grand Prix.
  8. Any other business –
    1. Summer Handicap – third race in June had over 60 runners, followed by cakes in the bar. Thanks to the handicapper, and the helpers and timekeepers. The July race will be moved to Wednesday 8th July, as the Warks league Ryton Pools race is on Thursday 2nd July.
    2. Good, Bad & Ugly relay – Wednesday 24th June.
    3. Race the Train – Wednesday15th July.
    4. London Marathon Club Places – good for age places are available to 9 July.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 20 July 8pm.at Corinna O'Connor's residence.
