NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  1. Apologies – R. Awcock (President), A. Deavy (Ladies' Captain), J. Wilson (Men's Captain).
  2. Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness discussed the accounts. Congratulations to Tony Mackness who was selected as Treasurer of the Warwickshire County Athletics Association (WCAA). Some kit money is still outstanding. An England Athletics option for paying affiliation fees online was rejected due to commission and other rules.
  3. Membership – We have 159 paid members. England Athletics membership fees will increase gradually over the next few years.
  4. Social Secretary Report – There is a Christmas meal at the Farmhouse, near Hearshall Common on 11th December. The Annual Awards Night is booked at Jaguar for Saturday 30th January 2016.
  5. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. The men are 2nd in Division 3 of the Birmingham League XC after 2 races at Leamington and Aldridge. The ladies are 7th in the Midlands Ladies League XC Division 2 after races at Leamington and Cofton. The Warwick University XC relays were well attended with the ladies team winning on the day. The Midland 7s XC had a ladies team, but an incomplete mens team after some runners did not attend. We need to publicise that the club pays for people to enter races, and expects them to attend if they agree to run, unless there is a very good reason.
  6. 10Km race – The 2016 race is on Sunday 10th July. Chip timing was considered, but will not be used in the next race. Myton Hospice are the main charity.
  7. Runner of the Month – September – November winners – Men: Graham Dodd – new XC counter, Ladies: Clare Weir – regularly running XC races. Bob Adams will distribute vouchers to recent winners.
  8. Any other business –
    1. London Marathon Club Place winners – Simon Davies and Scott Shepherd
    2. Brighton Marathon – 2 club places are available. Adrian Powell has first option for a place as he was a reserve for the London Marathon
    3. Publicity – Sarah Booker has tried to pass publicity to Coventry Telegraph.
    4. AGM – booked at Jaguar for Wednesday 27th January 2016
    5. Jaguar Fees – are now due and should be passed to Mark Dalton
    6. Warks Road Race League AGM – 10Km race included for 2016 league
    7. Christmas Cracker Run – Tony Mackness will organise this for 20th December.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 11th January 2016 at 8pm at Mark Dalton's residence.
