NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  1. Apologies – none.
  2. Matters Arising – we have 157 paid-up members.
  3. Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness discussed details of the accounts.
  4. Awards Review – Bob Adams will order shields. The first long service certificates have not been awarded yet.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to the cake bakers at the Summer handicaps. There will be social drinks after Race the Train (Bell Inn).
  6. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Many excellent results are on the club website. The Warks Road League includes a new race, the Monty 5Km in Leamington, and many races are taking place soon. Recently, the Ryton 5 miles, Sphinx 5 miles and Two Castles 10K were well attended. The mens and ladies teams finished in second place in a beer relay race at Stratford. The Sphinx mile relays are soon. The Thunder Run relay is also soon.
  7. 10Km race – The race is on 10th July 2016. The sub-committee are getting very busy. Many more entries are now being received. Marshals are vitally needed on the day. Letters to residents need to be delivered.
  8. Club Kit – an order of 50 vests has been placed. Damian Pharoah has also ordered buffs and training tops. Some female members had asked if we could get club t-shirts to wear in races instead of vests (with the sunburst design). There was a discussion about this, but it was not agreed, as club vests need to be worn in races. It was recommended that a base layer can be worn under a vest.
  9. Runner of the Month – May 2016 winners – Men: Seb Jones-Brain – new member with second fastest leg of Hilly 100. Ladies: Linda Richards – many PBs.
  10. Any other business –
    1. Summer handicap – the third race was well attended by over 50 runners. Thanks to the handicapper and all the helpers.
    2. Good Bad & Ugly relay – planned for Wednesday 22nd June – Bob Adams will organise the teams this year.
    3. Race the Train, Hampton-in Arden – planned for Wednesday 13th July.
    4. Northbrook Track Event – we will see if there is enough interest for this event.
  11. Next Meeting – Monday 18th July 2016 at 8pm at Corinna O'Connor's residence.
