NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING
held on 18 July 2016

- Apologies – C. O'Connor (Social Secretary).
- Matters Arising – we have 161 paid-up members. Member packs are
bieng sent out now.
- Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness discussed details of the
accounts.
- Awards Review – Bob Adams has received the XC shields. The
first long service certificates have not been awarded yet.
- Social Secretary Report – Thanks to the cake bakers at the Summer
handicaps.
- Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Many excellent results are on the
club website. The Warks Road League continued with the new Monty 5Km race.
There was success in the East Midlands Grand Prix for Jill Pittard who
won the ladies series, and Mick Duggan who won the MV75 category. The Sphinx
mile relays were successful with Northbrook teams winning 2 categories
and finishing second in 2 categories. The Thunder Run relay is taking place
soon.
- 10Km race – The race was held on 10th July 2016. It was another great
success with 576 10Km race entries and 78 fun run entries. Many thanks to
all of the 10Km sub-committee for all their work through the year. Also thanks
to everyone who helped on the day. Several charities will benefit from the
event again this year.
- Club Kit – Some members had again asked if we could get club t-shirts,
with the sunburst design, to wear in some races (where allowed) instead of
vests. It was agreed to see demand in the club for this, so Damian Pharoah
will look into a provisional order (5 per size).
- Jaguar Club – A sub-group of the club are continuing discussions
with Jaguar about our membership role and access to facilities.
- Runner of the Month – June 2016 winners – Men: Richard Cawley – many
PB's. Ladies: Jull Pittard - won the East Midlands Grand Prix FV35.
- Any other business –
- Summer handicap – the fourth race was well attended by
around 60 runners. Thanks to the handicapper and all the helpers.
- Good Bad & Ugly
relay – thanks to Bob Adams for helping this year. There was
great turnout.
- Race the Train, Hampton-in Arden – another well-attended event.
- Northbrook Track Event – Bob Adams will try to book the track
for 17th August.
- Next Meeting – Monday 18th July 2016 at 7.30pm (earlier) - venue
TBD.
