NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  1. Apologies – A. Mackness (Treasurer), M. Dalton (Membership Secreatary).
  2. Matters Arising – none.
  3. Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness sent details of the accounts. Tony need clarification on Track Night payment.
  4. Awards Review – The first long service certificates have not been awarded yet. Mark Dalton has start dates. Roger Ladbury will create a website gallery.
  5. Social Secretary Report – Thanks to the cake bakers at the Summer handicaps. There are drinks in City Arms, Earlsdon on 30th September. The Presentation Night is booked at the Village Hotel near Hearsall Common for Saturday 28th January 2017. Tickets are £20. There will be a fun pre-Christmas club night.
  6. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Many excellent results are on the club website. The Warks Road League continued with the Kenilworth Half Marathon race. Runners are needed for the Sutton Park relays in September, and the cross country races. Thanks to Terry Moynihan for offering help with the relays to team captains. Teams are being entered soon for 24 hour races – Equinox and Thunder Run. A £10 per person club subsidy will be available for Thunder Run.
  7. 10Km race – Many thanks to all of the 10Km sub-committee for all their work through the year. Next years race is on Sunday 9th July 2017. Roger Ladbury stated that the 10Km sub-committee needed some extra help to continue the race in future, as there is a lot to organise. Tony French in particular, does a lot of vital tasks. Also there is help from Roger Ladbury, Tony Mackness, Kevin Coughlan, John Ralph and Tony Williams. Terry Moynihan has also agreed to help. Also, the club needs to look again at runners on the day who do not provide a substitute marshal or helper. We have had over 100 feedback forms from runners who did the race this year which were mainly positive. Tony French mentioned a race directors course available for £50.
  8. Club kit – 50 club t-shirts, with the sunburst design are available if ordered. Damian Pharoah will order club skorts (skirt shorts). 6 club vests were sold.
  9. Jaguar Club – A sub-group of the club are continuing discussions with Jaguar about our membership role and access to facilities.
  10. Runner of the Month – August 2016 winners – Men: Tommy Dempsey– 3 good results in August. Ladies: Amy Burdis – Ultra run over 100 miles
  11. Any other business –
    1. Summer handicap – the final race was well attended by around 60 runners. Thanks to the handicapper and all the helpers.
    2. Northbrook Track Event – thanks to Bob Adams for booking the track for 17th August.
    3. Jaguar Fees – Payments are now due and amounts are the same as last year.
    4. London Marathon Club Places – Mark Baker can apply from 24th October.
    5. Gazebo / Tent – Clare is looking at options.
    6. Earlsdon Runners – new gym based beginner runners – could be invited to 10Km race.
  12. Next Meeting – Monday 17th October 2016 at 8pm at Corinna O'Connor's residence.
