NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

  2. Matters Arising – none.
  3. Treasurer's Report –
  4. Tony Mackness sent details of the accounts. We are still waiting for Coventry Council to acknowledge if they require payment for 3 years of road closure for the 10km race.
  5. Social Secretary Report – The Presentation Night is booked at the Village Hotel near Hearsall Common for Saturday 28th January 2017. Tickets are £20, and smart dress is encouraged. There will be a pre-Christmas meal and drink on Friday 16th December in Earlsdon. There will be a fun pre-Christmas club night run on Wednesday 21st December.
  6. Mens/Ladies Captains' Report - The Birmingham XC League and Midlands Ladies League continued on a very challenging course at Leamington on 9th December. The men were 12th on the day, and are 11th overall in Division 2. The ladies are 9th overall and 3rd masters team in the Division 2 results. The men and ladies are at different venues in January (Telford and Wolverhampton). The Warks XC is at Leamington before those events.
  7. 10Km race – Next year’s race is on Sunday 9th July 2017. Race start will be in Browns Lane. Sponsorship is coming in. A sub-group of the club are still continuing discussions with Jaguar about our membership role and access to facilities and the 10Km race. There are no further updates yet from Jaguar.
  8. Club Kit – Damian Pharoah has club vests, t-shirts and skorts.
  9. Runner of the Month – November 2016 winners – Tom Miller – helped organise Level 1 sessions and ran in XC events. Ladies: Anne Hughes – 1st V60 in Flying Fox 10 miles, and ran well in XC events.
  1. Any other business –
    1. Christmas Cracker – Tony Mackness’s event is on 18th December from Memorial Park
    2. Brighton Marathon Club Places – 4 places were passed to Tommy Dempsey, Richard French, Mark Parker and Paul Robbins.
    3. Park Run Cup – Oliver Jones has organised this challenge within the Park Runs. It is underway and generating exciting discussions on Facebook updates.
    4. WRRL meeting – there is a new 10Km race at Royal Showground, The Autumnal 5 has now been reinstated.
    5. Coundon Park – We are co-hosting the mens league fixture in February 2017.
    6. AGM – Bob Adams has booked a room at Jaguar for 25th January 2017. A notice will be sent to members asking for proposals and nominations. The nominations board may also appear on the club website soon.
    7. Club Voted Awards – The committee agreed a shortlist which will be sent to members, although they can vote for any member. This vote may also appear on the club website soon, along with details of long service awards.
    8. Club Trophies – need to be returned to Bob Adams before the Awards night
