Like the other 20 milers staged at this time of year - Gloucester, Ashby - this was a two lap, rural circuit. Unlike either of those races, however, this was a fast, flat course with only a couple of inclines. Added to that, the weather, for the middle of February, was almost perfect: mild with virtually no wind. Taken together this - as you can see - made for ideal PB conditions! - Howard

Centurion GP - 1 February

3 Nathan Holmes 28:12
34 Rebecca Smith 33:03
43 James Joyce 34:01

Neither Becky nor I had great runs this time around (I'll risk getting in trouble by pointing out that Becky was beaten by a pensioner), although given the disasterous run I had at Wedgenock the day before I was happy to settle for mediocrity. Next week we're taking a break from our crazy race schedule, so hopefully we'll be a bit bouncier for the cross country the week after - Nathan
