Having done this 20 mile race before, I knew what to expect.  I just hoped that the weather forecasters would get it wrong and we would be able to see some blue sky.  Unfortunately not! We were corralled into pens on a patch of muddy grass and then 'walked' to the start line about a quarter of a mile away.  The weather at this point was not too bad but as the race got underway and we started ticking the miles off, we went from drizzle, to sleet and then to big snowflakes! The temperature was not too bad though and not at any time did I feel cold.

The route, for those that do not know, is a 2-lap course which seems to consist of mainly hills going in the 'up' direction.  I was told that we did go downhill at some point but I can't seem to recall where!  Support from very brave on-lookers was very much appreciated and the huge number of cheery marshals around the course was an even bigger bonus.  The only down-side to this race (and it is a small one) is that the last 200m is on grass.  Very wet, muddy, slippery grass aswell!  However, the very happy helpers at the end made up for that - along with the very good 'goody-bag' and yet another Hoodie!

Will I do it again? More than likely. Oh, and for those that did run....just one question....did you 'Pee in Packington?? - Sarah (Results to follow)
