This was the last race in a series of 5 and is a loop of approximately 6.35 miles around Ilmington.  It takes in all the mountains in the surrounding area giving all entrants spectacular views of the countryside to detract from the pain of getting up the hills, I mean mountains!  Really good to see my fellow Northbrookers getting better each time they do this course - all our drills and training are paying off!
Its a well-marshalled event with a good field of assorted runners of all abilities (club runners and non-club runners), and I would highly recommend it to anyone.  The prize of sausages at the end of each race is a bit bizarre, but certainly a talking point, and then if you complete all 5 races, you get a good quality hoodie - Sarah

  Chris Perkins   2:13:43 PB

13.1 miles around the outskirts of Wokingham on a cool but sunny day, what could be better. A near perfect day for a run around a reasonably flat, well marshalled, traffic free course. I have done this race about 7 times now and can never fault it. The fact that it's totally traffic free and is a pretty route certainly helps. You are always in good company as well as it's usually Liz Yelling who wins for the ladies (not that I ever see her).  However, this year Mara Yamauchi ran for the ladies and got pipped at the post for 2nd place!! (Didn't see her either!).
On a positive note, four PB's for Northbrook and some good solid training runs done by all. I think we all finished feeling positive and looking forward to the next 20 mile races and, of course, our forthcoming marathons - Sarah
