NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Treasurer Report – Tony Mackness sent details of the accounts. Bob Adams and Mark Baker covered payments admin while Tony was on holiday. However, could Tony see if we can get a payment card with our account, or another account, so that committee members do not need to make payments first, and claim back..
Social Events – The Awards Evening is booked at Jaguar on Saturday 22nd March 2025. Daisy Robbins discussed plans for a fantastic evening.
Membership – So far, we have around 153 renewals since the AGM. We were informed recently that England Athletics were raising affiliation fees for this year. We were not expecting an increase, so the club subscriptions were unchanged at the AGM. The committee agreed that this year we will need to accept the extra cost and keep member fees unchanged this year.
Health and Safety – There was one minor incident in February 2025, but no ongoing issues.
Training – Thanks to all the coaches leading training sessions for the club.
Events – The Sutton Park road relays are at the end of March, and the Cotswolds Hilly 100 is in May.
Club Road Race Championships – It was agreed that:

  • Second claim members should appear in the points tables, but they need to ensure that their results are notified on the club website link. This is important as second claim members may not be found in a club search on Northbrook results.
  • Social (non-competing) members should not appear in the points tables.

Runners of the Month – The winners are Nicola Glaze (performances at 10 miles and half marathon) and Fraser Barrett (ran 99 Birmingham XC League races).

  1. Club Records – a Women’s 5Km club record needs to be added to the club website
  2. Summer Handicap – A registration form for the season will be available soon.
  3. Parkrun Publicity – 3 local parkruns will be attended by members, to publicise club training sessions for new members and publicise the 10km race.
