07/12/13 Birmingham League Race 2
With a team somewhat depleted by injury, illness and absence on business Northbrook struggled against strengthened opposition from local rivals in the 2nd Birmingham League cross-country race at Burbage Common on 7 December. Finishing last on the day the Men's 'A' team are 15th overall after 2 races. There's work to do in the next race on 11 January to stay out of the relegation zone.
09/11/13 Birmingham League Race 1
Northbrook had a great start to the 2013/14 cross-country league season when they fielded 26 men and 4 women for the first B'ham League race at Newbold Comyn on 9 November. Northbrook ‘A’ team sits in 13th place after Race 1, 3 places and 200 points above the relegation zone, and just 10 points behind local rivals Massey Ferguson. The ‘B’ team also did well, coming 8th on the day.
04/09/13 Summer Handicap
In the sixth and final race in the 2013 series on 4 September, Martin Davies was first man home. with Alix Almond first lady in her 2013 debut appearance, but Amy Burdis maintained her lead at the top of the ladies' table to take the ladies' 2013 handicap title. A strong run by Aaron Dreelan propelled him to the top of the men's table and the series title for 2013.

27/07/13 Northbrook Thunderers at Catton Park
Two teams of eight and a team of five took an overnight mud bath at Catton Park on the weekend of 27 July to compete in the 24-hour Thunder Run, an endurance 10k relay event to cover as much distance as possible in 24 hours. Northbrook fielded a mixed team of 5 (finishing 5th) and two mixed teams of 8 (finishing 11th and 117th).
Paul Stead decided to go it alone and completed 70k.


14/07/13 Record Field at Northbrook 10k
Our popular 10k race around the scenic areas of Allesley and Corley, incorporating the Warwickshire County 10k Road Championships and the 5th race in the 2013 Warwickshire Road Race League, attracted nearly 500 entries.
Godiva Harrier Alistair Smith won the 10k race in 32:55. Sue Harrison (Leamington Spa) took the 1st lady spot in 37:20.
Amanda Deavy (39.07) was first counter for Northbrook, and also 3rd lady.

12/06/13 Huge Northbrook Turnout at Sphinx 5
Northbrook AC set friendly rivals Sphinx a challenging target for their inter-Club competition at Coventry's War Memorial Park by fielding 61 runners for the annual Sphinx Summer 5. Amanda Deavy finished as 3rd lady and 1st F35, with PB's for Steve Turvey, Jason Brannigan, Steve Handy, Amy Burdis and Lee Hill.

09/06/13 WRRL Honours for Northbrook Ladies at Two Castles
Northbrook turned out in force for the Warwick to Kenilworth Two Castles 10k race on 9 June, and the ladies were rewarded with a 2nd place in the WRRL race for Amanda Deavy. Amanda, joined by team mates Cath Fenn and Sarah McNaney also took the WRRL second ladies' team placing.

19/05/13 Cotswold Hilly 100
Four Northbrook teams entered the Hilly 100, 10-stage 100 mile relay event through the Cotswolds on 19 May. With some excellent times on this gruelling course, Northbrook took a second team prize.

14/04/13 Win for Lyn in Centurion Grand Prix
With another 1st place finish to add to the previous two first places and two second places Lyn McDonald took the overall title in the ladies' competition at the last race of the Centurion Grand Prix series in April. The Centurion Grand Prix is a series of six races held at monthly intervals from November to April.
17/03/13 Payday for John at Asbhy
Coming back from persistent injury John Ralph's finish at the Asbhy 20 on 17 March won him £25 for being the oldest finisher. Just proves you can't keep a good man down.

09/02/13 Northbrook Move Up to Division 2 in B'ham League
A superb performance by Northbrook Men's A team gave them another 2nd place finish in the final race of the Birmingham League Cross-Country series at Coundon Park on 9 February. Finishing in 2nd place overall means Northbrook move up to Division 2 along with 3rd placed Massey Ferguson. The men's B team won four first places and finished 550 points clear of their nearest rivals.

05/01/13 Deavy Selected for Inter-Counties
Following some very strong recent performances in the mud, including a 2nd Lady Masters finish at the Warwicksire Cross Country Champs on 5 January, Amanda Deavy has been selected to compete in the Inter-Counties XC masters' race at Cofton Park on 9 March.
